Interior Design & Styling

Creating a comfortable environment within which to work, plays a very important role in support of the creative activities involved in audio/video production. Having recognised this reality we utilise a wide range of materials in our interior designs, to create an appropriate aesthetic, while maintaining the critical acoustic performance which cannot be compromised.

Through our use of stretched fabric wall and ceiling finishes we have access to a diverse range of textiles giving us great scope to create stylish looking studio facilities. The standard range of fabrics, which we regularly use, provides a wide selection of cost effective options which are ideal for creating a comfortable environment. Various fire ratings are available depending upon your specific requirement all the way up to “Class O”.

Lighting obviously plays an important function in interior design and the correct use of lighting can really set off a space. Nowhere is this truer than in the recording/broadcasting industry. Dynamic/subtle mood changes can be achieved by the creative use of lighting. Our strategy is to deploy lighting solutions which provide the required level of light for operational purposes while also contributing to the overall atmosphere.

The use of natural materials like timber can be integrated into the overall acoustic & aesthetic design thus providing opportunities for interesting contrasting or complementary interior finishes. In particular timber floors & timber diffusers can be easily and practically integrated in the overall plan which can coordinate with doors, windows and skirting’s.

An alternative aesthetic option is to utilise spray painted finishes, which open up access to an infinite range of colours. In coordination with selected stretched fabrics materials (which we use to finish wall some acoustic surfaces) this provides plenty of opportunities to achieve a bespoke appearance whilst keeping the budget intact. This is the approach which we adopt for our standard finish while allowing access to the use of natural timber if so required.
Carpet is a practical floor finish, which by its nature provides a degree of both airborne sound absorption and impact sound insulation resistance. Available in a wide range of colours it is a cost effective option with plenty of choice.
